iDid: Optimize my time
★★★½☆ :: PRODUCTIVITY NICHE
March 11th, 2010 by Ryan Wood
iDid: Optimize my time is an excellent productivity app, if you can find use for it. It seems to be extremely niche, though well done.
X Invasion 2
★★★½☆ :: OKAY
March 11th, 2010 by Arron Hirst
While probably not as graphically exciting as perhaps some other flight simulators like F.A.S.T, X Invasion 2 is a respectable punt at providing the simulated flying experience you might be looking for.
Pocket Labeler
★★★★☆ :: LABEL EVERYTHING
March 11th, 2010 by Chris Hall
While Pocket Labeler doesn’t do a whole lot, what it does it does quite well. If you feel the urge to label things, you definitely need this app.
How To Train Your Dragon: Flight of the Night Fury
★★★½☆ :: DRAGON TIME
March 11th, 2010 by Ben Terrett
Who doesn’t love dragons? Everyone loves dragons. Unfortunately playing as a dragon isn’t quite enough to convince yourself that there may be better games in this genre.
Street Fighter IV
★★★★½ :: YOU WIN
March 10th, 2010 by Jason Fanguy
At a fraction of the price of its console version, CAPCOM’S iPhone port of Street Fighter IV features beautiful graphics and visceral game play. The iPhone version is very impressive and remains loyal to the franchise, but its game play, while solid, does slightly suffer from the virtual-control scheme, but not enough to negatively affect overall game play/value.
NewsAlert
★★★½☆ :: NICHE, BUT GOOD
March 10th, 2010 by Bonnie Eisenman
NewsAlert is a great way to isolate news about certain topics. It won’t be useful for everyone, but it does what it promises and it does it well.
The Hero
★★★★☆ :: STYLISH FUN
March 9th, 2010 by Chris Hall
The Hero is an extremely solid superhero action game that excels on multiple levels. If only the games story was as gripping as the trailer.
The Graveyard
★★½☆☆ :: ARTISTIC GAME
March 9th, 2010 by Ryan Wood
The Graveyard is a wonderful work of art with a very limited appeal. Those who really appreciate the art form that is video gaming will find great pleasure in this game. Everyone else might not.
Readdle Docs
★★★★½ :: PHENOMENAL
March 9th, 2010 by Bonnie Eisenman
Readdle Docs is a brilliant file viewer and document manager. It’s a very mature app with some impressive capabilities, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
GeeTasks
★★★½☆ :: SIMPLY USEFUL
March 8th, 2010 by Bonnie Eisenman
GeeTasks is a bare-bones to-do app that draws on the Google Tasks service. You won’t find any frills here, but the ability to take my Google Tasks offline and have them waiting in my gmail inbox makes this simple app great for getting things done.
Bit Pilot
★★★★☆ :: RETRO CANDY
March 8th, 2010 by Jason Fanguy
Bit Pilot is an intense, retro, asteroid-dodging game. It boasts intuitive and precise touch controls, a good soundtrack by Sabrepulse, unlockable soundtracks and bonuses, eleven challenging achievements and OpenFeint integration (global high-score lists and rankings).
Meebo
★★★½☆ :: MEDIOCRE MESSENGER
March 7th, 2010 by Ryan Wood
Meebo offers a lot of functionality, but fails to deliver on some key points. It is extremely useful for those individuals who use a plethora of messaging programs, but wasted functionality for the standard user.
LockBox Pro
★★★★☆ :: BASIC SECURITY
March 7th, 2010 by Jason Fanguy
LockBox Pro is a basic, “no-frills” data storage application that I’ve found to be adequate, reliable and easy to use. Its simplicity is what makes it attractive, but at the same time prevents it from performing those advanced features found in similar applications.
Pocket CPR
★★★★☆ :: GOOD TRAINING
March 7th, 2010 by Jason Fanguy
This is a good app for CPR-trained personnel and/or learning students to practice with, but it’s intended to be a training aid, so I wouldn’t advise using it in a real-life situation.
Cocoto Magic Circus
★★★½ :: SUPERIOR SHOOTER
March 7th, 2010 by Ryan Wood
Cocoto Magic Circus is a great tap to shoot arcade style game that really steps up the genre.
Magellan RoadMate 2010 North America
★★★½☆ :: TRAFFIC CONGESTION
March 5th, 2010 by Jeff Scott
Magellan RoadMate is the latest full iPhone GPS app to hit the iPhone. From one of the most respected names in the industry, this is a really good contender for the crown of best iPhone GPS application – but still needs work to get there.
DocScanner
★★★☆☆ :: STRONG FOUNDATION
March 5th, 2010 by Jason Fanguy
Whether you’re an international spy or an international stiff, DocScanner is a very useful app. Its developers have established a nice foundation, but it contains cracks that need to be repaired before moving forward.
Scanner Pro
★★★★☆ :: BEST IN CLASS
March 5th, 2010 by Jason Fanguy
Scanner Pro does exactly what it says; and well. It performed better than any other scanner app I’ve tested so far, thus earning my personal BEST IN CLASS award.
Hellemental
★★★☆☆ :: JUST SHORT OF CHARMING
March 5th, 2010 by Arron Hirst
Hellemental is a colorful tower defense title set in the times of magic sorcerers and mythical creatures. One with 3D graphics and more spells you can shake a stick it .. for me though, it was missing something I couldn’t quite put my finger on.
Fox Vs. Duck
★★★★☆ :: ADDICTIVE MINIMALISM
March 5th, 2010 by Arron Hirst
Fox Vs. Duck is a race of survival. Very much centered around the notions of life and death, the game portrays these natural events in a highly minimalistic way. With its addicting gameplay and a very unique art style, Fox Vs. Duck is definitely worth your time. Or is it?
Sponge
★★★★½ :: SOCIAL SUCCESS
March 4th, 2010 by Ryan Wood
Sponge brings all your social networking needs into one Convenient, easy to use application. It’s a must have for any social butterfly.
Jet Ball
★★★★½ :: BEDAZZLING BRICK-BREAKING
March 4th, 2010 by Jason Fanguy
Jet Ball is a “brick-breaking” clone that takes all the past successes and failures of the “brick-breaking” genre and establishes a new standard, shattering the bricks of it’s predecessors.
Fly, Kiwi, Fly!
★★★★☆ :: LIGHT-HEARTED FUN
March 4th, 2010 by Bonnie Eisenman
Fly, Kiwi, Fly! is a distance-based flying game that lets you take charge of a manic kiwi. Upgrades, achievements, and country divisions keep you playing, though the addiction factor peters out once those run out. Still, it’s a fun, bite-sized game.
Colorbind
★★★★☆ :: ELEGANT PUZZLE
March 4th, 2010 by Bonnie Eisenman
Colorbind is a minimalist logic-first puzzle game and a real treat for the mind. Folding ribbons is quite the enjoyable challenge!
