Samsung NX10 Officially Previewed

The first NX model from Samsung has made its appearance right in time for CES 2010. Samsung, which had been keeping enthusiasts on a wait mode by bringing out teasers of the NX model, has now made things official by unveiling the NX10.

Significant about the Samsung NX10 is the fact that the camera comes with interchangeable-lens options. Features include a 14.6-megapixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor
and the camera is also said to have the ability to shoot 720p HD video as MPEG-4 files at 30 frames per second. Awesome, isn’t it?

Cased in a compact frame, the Samsung NX 10’s vital statistics read 4.8 inches wide, 3.4 inches high, and 1.6 inches deep. It weighs a cool 0.78 pounds, sans the lens. The maker has done away with the through-the-lens optical viewfinder that comes with traditional DSLRs, and has brought in a 3-inch-diagonal AMOLED screen to compose shots. With interchangeability of lenses being the most talked about feature, Samsung has also unveiled three new lenses for the NX series. They include an 18mm-55mm optically stabilized lens, which is the NX10’s kit lens, a 50mm-200mm stabilized lens, and a 30mm prime lens.

The unveiling now having been effected, we are now waiting to know when the NX10 will start to ship. On the pricing front too, we will have to find out what is in store. It is expected that the Spring season might see the NX10 bloom in retail stores.
